WGT624v3 slow p2p connections

I have a WGT624v3 router with a WMP54G adapter for my desktop, meaning of course I am on wireless connection. I don't know what the problem can be traced back to but when using peer 2 peer programs, I get SLOWWW download speeds. At the moment there are 30 seeds for this file I am downloading, and yet the download rate is at 11 kb/s. Now I normally wouldn't and haven't been concerned about this, however, I went to my friends house and saw that he started the same torrent along with 3 other torrents and in 24 hours all are done, I have 1 file going and it isn't even complete and I started it Monday.

I guess what I'm saying is, there is my router, there is my adapter, I use Windows Professional Corporate edition, and I am the only computer on the network at the moment, yet my download rates have always been specifically low. I have DSL 768kb/s, my friend has the next version up from that while still on DSL, and I am set as the default DMZ server on my router to allow all connections from my router.

By the way, it is now 21 users seeding, download arte at 2.4 kb/s.

I had slow P2P downloads before I followed the steps at PortForward. I averaged maybe 22kbps downloads; then I followed the steps and saw an instant jump to 200kbps+ and sometimes as high as 500kbps. Do it. You won't regret it.

Well, the DMZ server should open all the ports for me. BUt I turned of DMZ and I added the port because I can't do both.

 

dmz is know to make it slower and that model router is know to have issues with p2p forwarding the ports should help
