What a day....

started 9am this morning with a copy modified /created process from a Novell 4.11 box to a Novell 6 box over a 10Mb line. Took for-freakin-ever to complete. It finally finished at about 4:20pm. A whole day shot. Our original estimation was 3 hours.. boy were we wrong. Turned out the compression on the old server was bottle-necking the whole process. I don't get to do these things after hours because I'm a contractor and we can't have over time and I have to be here duing the day. So, that's life I guess...lol.

Time to go home, chow down and play with version 2.0 for a while before he falls asleep on me

 

Sounds like quite the boring day.

 

hectic..really. Had to keep going around updating logins and telling people to stay off the damned computers.

 

o i know what you mean. constantly going back and forth trying to get things sorted out. happens a lot for me, when i have to set up something on both computers. one on the 2nd floor, and one in the basement. and constantly giong up and down.

 

Well at least you didn't have to work in a buuny suit. My daughters' boyfriend interned at Micron in Boise last summer and one day all his machines were down and the bunny suit was making his skin itch!

 

lol.nope. no bunny suit here, but I did have this feeling that I was wearing a target on my back
