accelerators? Is there really a benefit to these kinds of programs? Do they really speed up your computer, your modem, your internet connection, etc?

 

Most of them contain a few tweaks to help speed up your machine, like changing the settings for the display of the start menu to changinig the WaitToKillApp setting to speed shutdown.

Provided you use them correctly, you can get a decent performance boost from most of these programs.

 

also watch closely for spyware and other pests..you may also want to run a spyware removal after installing just to be safe
