What Are The Differences Between These 2 RAMs?

At present I have 512mb of RAM but will be going out tomorrow to buy another 512mb worth to bring the total to 1gb (the max my MOBO can handle unfortunately).

Anyway, do certain types make a difference in gaming or will I be able to buy the cheapest 512mb worth of RAM and still have decent improvements to gaming?

I've been so caught up in finding a decent graphics card that I never stopped to think about what type of RAM I'll need (I know I need DDR RAM though).

Are there any big differences between RAM types when purchasing RAM because this is the cheapest 512mb of RAM I could find but it is PCR2700 and I have no idea what that means - http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/st...null&sm=null&tm=null&sku=758026&category_oid=

Now I really don't know the difference between the two, but I'm on a low budget so would rather go for the cheaper one. Will there be any major difference in the two and if so, what?

The speed is the difference, two sticks of ram at different speeds will run at the slowest speed of the two. Try this out,

It's probably best to buy a stick-o-RAM with the same speed as the one you're running now. As tunered mentioned, if you're running PC2700 and you install a PC3200, the PC3200 will slow down to 2700 (333mhz=2700, 400mhz=3200; basically divide by 8; 3200/8=400), so there's no point in spending the extra money on the PC3200....
