Could anyone with a little time on their hands please explain these two to me. Or provide a link that would explain to a layman what they do and why I have no internet access if I don't let Zone Alarm connect them? Thanks

Generic Host Process for Win32 Services

    Spooler Subsystem

    My OS is XP home

    Both are required.

GHP is a host for all the services in your system

Spooler subsystem is used for spooling print jobs to memory.

    Thanks Kodo.
So there's nothing sinister going on here, then?
Bill Gates isn't spying on me or anything?

the spooler process definately is NOT any kind of spy mechanism..
however, the GHP is a host for services so when the GHP pops up, it could be another service using it.
