I use Slimbrowser, which is basically a cross between IE and something like Firefox. It's an IE shell (so it techincally is IE, meaning it's compatible with nearly everything) but with cool features like tabs, ad filter, skins, popup blocker, etc..

Right now I am trying opera and firefox. I like them both but haven't settled on one yet. At the moment I am leaning towards opera though.

Vanilla IE 6, but I'm in the market for something else IE-based (anything else doesn't agree with my PIM wiki).

Firefox all the way. Good performing and fairly forgiving with code, in my books is a good browser :)

Slimbrowser. I like the gui and the popup blocker works great. Tabbed browsing is neat also. Was using K-meleon, shifted back to Slimbrowser after SP2 install. I figure the security improvments on IE6 in SP2 make it safer than it was.

Firefox forever! I actually have Netscape's latest on this machine, but almost never use it and probably will remove it eventually just to reclaim the space. I HAVE TO use IE to use Windows Update, and to get into a lot of pages on Microsoft's many servers, but that's not a weakness of Firefox; it's Microsoft's stubborn refusal to comply with standards.

There is a delightful extension in Firefox that I find myself using daily to get Microsoft pages to load quickly and properly. It's called IEVIEW (.81), and it does two terrific things: it puts an entry in right-click menus (View this page in IE) that opens IE and mounts the page you're trying to see immediately (no copying and pasting involved); and it adds a right-click menu item that shows when you right-click a LINK that won't open in Firefox, and it offers you the option of opening that link in IE (again, with no copying and pasting or opening IE at the home page and then navigating to the target page). So long as MS continues to write code for IE only, that kind of extension will be very handy to have.

On My machine i ahve Opera 7.54, and the 7.6beta.
I have Firefox on my laptop.

I prefer Opera, it seems to be the fastest browser i have tried, and the most memory efficient.

Firefox comes a close second. I would never use IE if it wasnt for MS making Windows update require IE. It has too many security holes for me to ever consider it again. The same goes to all the "IE skin" browsers, whoch might add some useful features, but retain the swiss cheese hole style security flaws

Its suprising to see IE beat. I wanst expecting it, but its mostly knowledgable users here so its not really gonna compare to the real world where you have all the end users who dont know how to change if they wanted to.

Firefox. I got sick of battling spyware and worrying about the security headaches and decided to run Firefox and IE side by each for a few weeks. After two days - I retired IE and other than doing the security downloads with IE, have been using Firefox exclusively.

I have this love hate relationship with Opera since 1998. Install, uninstall and then install. Now I'm completely hooked on it. Opera 7 rocks. :)

I keep using IE (with Maxathon formerly MyIE2) because I would like to get infected with Spyware. I dont know how these people do it, I used my test machine with IE all alone and went to every disgusting perverted porn site and tortured myself through movies and cracks and shopping sites and spelling websites wrong and cant get infested.

LMAO! That's what I call one helluva site. :)

I use both Internet Explorer and FireFox.

I'd love to give Internet Explorer the flick, but unfortunately you need it for Windows Update, the very rare site that won't load in FireFox, and that Google don't do an official toolbar for FireFox, only for IE. (You can get an unofficial toolbar, but I prefer the official one)

i use avant ... even though it's not technically a browser but an add on for IE .. it has all the features i want ... the only one being the handy little buttons at the bottom making switching from webpage to webpage easy as i post at alot of different forums

ill hafta give firefox a try as ive never used it ... plus avant comes loaded with highjackers:mad: of course they're relatively easy to get rid of

    Hey butterfly:
    Check it out!
The download link is right here (the Firefox is the one at the top, you'll see it): http://www.majorgeeks.com/downloads5.html

Yes, the tabbed browsing is awesome, especially for dial-up connections.

I recently had the "opportunity" to test Mozilla vs Firefox side by side.

The situation was, I could get flash going in Mozilla, but not in Firefox... so I compared the files, etc (got it working in both).

As I was testing, I thought... man, Firefox is Noticeably faster than Mozilla!

    :)

So, what did I end up downloading? I have something called Mozilla Firefox........I downloaded from MG.........and when I saw both names, I assumed it was a matter of different people using different parts of the name.........Now I'm soooo confused. Ya gotta be patient with me.......my knowledge is limited, you know. :)>)

I am having some problems with plug-ins with what I have......often just switch back to IE, because it's all there already. And I don't know what's up with this Java......downloaded a new one from Sun and sometimes it seems to lock up or something. I looked for a forum, but couldn't find one.
