   my father's 52" plasma tv has been around for several years before all the black lines show up, an unfortunetly they're here to stay, what causes a tv like this to do this and what are some solutions for this

   The display panel and I believe it can be replaced not sure. Call a couple of tv repair places just to make sure. Googled and found some video links that might help.
