what cpu should i use

I got a P4 519 3.06ghz socker LGA 775 here. My current rid is a A64 3000+ clawhammer at 2.0ghz what would be a better choice? If the p4 offers less preoformance will it be big and make me wish i had my A64? I also plan if i go with the p4 ti upgradeing to a C2D some time soon since i need a mobo for the p4 and i'll be getting one with C2D support.

 

The A64 Clawhammer will beat a Pentium 519 to a pulp as the P4 only has an FSB of 533 and not 800. Although they both have 1Mb of Cache, the Athlon, even still as a Soclet 754 chip would still beat it hands down.

Maybe wait until you can afford both the Motherboard & the C2D and stick with the AMD set up for now.
