What did I do now?

Last week I took the cover off my wife's computer, cleaned the dust with a small soft paint brush and vacuumed it all out.

I then took the fan off the heat sinc and cleaned the fins and surrounding areas. I put it all back together but neglected to put the thermal gel between the heat sinc and the processor.

Downloaded some kick ass stuff from this site and the computer has never ran so good...really good. Then I learned about thermal gel last night.

I took it all apart again a few minutes ago, did pretty much the same cleaning process, put the gel on and plugged it back in/up.

On boot up it looks like a combination of english and another language.

What should I do? If it's easier, give me a link please.

    Dumbfounded.

    TIA

Excellent 12 page article on how to properly apply thermal grease:

Also, I'd reseat all the cards in the computer. Is the video onboard or is it an expansion card. If expansion, I'd reseat that also.

    thanks bud, much appreciated.

Everything checked out fine so after the 5th time I rebooted, it took. Everything's fine for no apparent reason.
    Weird.
