what do i need?

i want to buy win xp. if u buy the upgrade itll save me 100 bucks.... what do i need for this... i have a windows 98 copy what do i need?!

 

There is no difference between an upgrade or a "full version" of XP.

The only thing it will ask you to do during the installation is to insert your Windows 98 CD to verify you are eligible for the upgrade.

You can still format and do a full installation with an upgrade CD.

Also consider OEM version of windows.
You mentioned saving $100 going with Upgrade that's all good.

If you look around online you should be able to find XP Home OEM for as Little as $80, & XP Pro OEM for around $100.

OEM is all good,same as Retail but with out fancy box /manual & couple of free phone call to Microsoft, Probably in India!

Here found this in about 30 seconds, I never bought from them but show for example, Xp Home is $85 & XP Pro is $120

At this site to buy for this price you must buy hardware, which for XP pro you must buy a Audio cable for 90 cents, so add a Dollar
