nice!!...but why CORSAIR XMS, when u can get CORSAIR value select 1gig(2x512) pc3200 for 80 bux at www.newegg.com ....save u 45 bux to put towards something else!!

i have built 2 gamming rigs from www.newegg.com with value select and i love it....

I have had both value select and XMS and to be honest i couldnt tell the difference....i know the timmings faster thats about all there is to it...but that doesnt realy matter, you wont notice it if u have the 6800GT...i prefer value select myself, but hey its up to u man...sounds like the makings of a good system!!

Good recommendation, might do it, Im trying to decide if its worth going to the 7000 line of the geforces or to just get the 6800 GT, I dont think ill use SLI. Im trying to decide if I should go with 2 gigs ram or just 1 also. Let me know what you all think appreciate the input. I decided to upgrade because my brother has an older machine that doesnt work to sell and I want to give him my current.

I have to disagree a64 systems love low latency memory, lowering my memory timings speed I can boost my 3d 03 by almost 300 points, thats a great performace boost for $40 bucks and thats in a video test the extra performance makes for a much more responsive system.

I read a very recent magazine test where Value Select scored higher than XMS, Kingston and Giel.

Anyway, I don't think a 6800 GT is good value. nVidia really need to drop the price.

If you can afford a 7800 GT or 7800 GTX, then it would be a better buy.

I also don't like LeadTek because of my dealings with their pathetic so-called support.

LiteOn make the best CD burners, but their DVD burners leave a lot to be desired unfortunately.

Pioneer and LG make some great units, and they also support DVD RAM (Not all Pioneer models).

I read a review a little while back and the 7800gt waw a huge jump from the 6800. So it is a good buy. Ofcourse if your not a huge gamer thats and easy place to save 100$

    That's never a good idea.

They aren't really reviews, just opinions, and usually not very accurate or informative ones.

Anyway, nice system and have fun.

Well if you read through them you see who has problem with the hardware and who doesnt, take a look at the plextor dvd burner reviews, I was going to get one until I saw that dozens of people had problems with them.

Thats the one I got except the sale I got was 329 instead of 379 and no motherboard. That sale just started monday I think, I bought the system sunday.

I don't hold much weight to user reviews on retailers sites.

The vast majority are written by people who barely know how to turn a PC on. I wouldn't trust them to guide my choice in hardware.

Anyway, why bother when you can use any search engine and get plenty of informative reviews, and where they actually test something and supply stats?
