im moving into my own place with my brother and with my fiance and my brothers girlfriend, him and his girlfriend are gonna be on wireless and me and my girlfriend are going to be hardwired, i want the fastest possible connection via wireless, i found this godly router:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16833122100
    and these recievers
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16833203005

these ARE compatible with eachother, correct? and also does anyone know where to get CHEAP Cat6 kits (ill make the wire myself, just need a spool of it with a crimper and the RJ-45 ends)

I really wouldnt spend much money on wireless just so that you can (in theory) get higher connection speeds. Most of the time, the advertised speed and the actual speed are way different. For instance, if you had a 54Mbps 802.11g router and were connected to the AP, it might say that you are connected at 54Mbps, but if you were to run some analyzer software and begin copying files between two pc's, you'd find that the connection is significantly slower than 54Mbps. This seems to be true with most models. I've also heard a lot of bad things about those 140Mbps and 108Mbps wireless cards & access points; such as speed issues when the access point and wireless card are different brands.

Always keep in mind that you're never going to be faster than your slowest link. So if your internet connection is 2Mbps down, you won't benefit from a 54Mbps router over a 10Mbps router; the speed will only be faster between pc's, not between the internet and your pc. Same is true if you bought a cable modem that had a 10/100 Ethernet interface over one that had a 10Mbps Ethernet interface. Since the cable connection won't go faster than 2Mbps, you wont see a difference using the 10/100 over the 10.

well, its also going to be doubled as a gaming hub, so id like gigabit wireless and gigabit lan for the fastest connection possible

There is no such thing as gigbit wireless.

    1x10/100/1000M WAN; 4x10/100/1000M LAN????

I'm sorry to tell you man but Colemanguy is correct. There is no such thing as Gigabit wireless as of yet. Even the fastest of the 802.11x flavors dont reliably run faster than 54Mbps... If you're going to be gaming, best to stick to the wired LAN for now. Just in case you were unsure, "WAN" stands for "Wide Area Network", not "Wireless...". The sales page on Newegg is a little misleading, because your WAN connection will not go 100Mbps or 1000Mbps and neither will your Wireless connection.

Well sorta misleading, if you were luckly enough to have an isp that would connect you at a gigbit then that wan (outside connection to internet) would connect at gigbit.

LAN = Local Area Network (internal connection to each pc at a max of gigbit)
WAN = Wide Area Network (connection to modem/fiber/isp provided device)

Currently most isps broadband modems connect at 100 meg (at least in us) but even then the actually transfer rate is usually 1-15 megs, even though your modem connects to your pc/switch at the speed of 100 meg.

    Now for the wireless
Draft 802.11n (wireless n is a new not set standard for the next gen of wireless connections)
Advanced MIMO technology = stands for multiple-input multiple-output communications, basiculy meaning more then one attena, for more info heres the wikki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MIMO
802.11b/g = current fastest wireless standard which connects at 54 meg.

Hope this makes sense, just ask if you have any more questions.

well, like i said, i will be hardwired to the router, my brother and his grilfriend will be wireless, but will still be looking at gaming on the LAN wirelessly, should i just get a 54Mbps reciever by linksys or somehting, i know linksys is reliable... i have had ALOT of problems with Netgear before, but it was an 8 year old router and was crap, im putting my faith in this netgear router as it seems to be the fastest in that price range. and thoes recievers were the fastest i could find on Newegg...

    That will work fine.

I have been more than satisfied with my Netgear WGR614... and this router goes on sale almost every week at Compusa.com for 20 bucks... Its 10/100 Ethernet and 54Mbps Wireless (G) but that is more than sufficient for games. You're not going to notice any slowdown when gaming with ANY 100Mbps switch (or router w/ built-in switch) until you've got more than 7 or 8 users on it who are gaming at the same time. At that point you'd want to have a mid range switch. So if there's only going to be a few of you, save your money and buy a Linksys or Netgear and keep it under 50 bucks. You won't notice the difference.

Yes 100 is fine if your only gaming, but you started adding lots of additional traffic ie internet, and file shareing the gigbit is totally worth it, I would stick with your current purchase.
