Okay, I have a macbook and use Windows via VMware Fusion. If I have Windows running under Fusion, and I'm in Mac mode the cd/dvd drive isn't recognized. When I shut down Windows and just have the Mac running then it's ok. I got this used Iomega cd/650 and plugged it in. When Mac opened up it said the following:

'Your virtual machine has sent an ATAPI (cd-rom) command that is supported only when programming the drive via DMA.
You will need to configure your guest (this is Windows) operating system to use DMA when communicating with the dvd/cd-rom devices.
Note that some operating systems will support DMA is available without actually using it. In those cases, normal cd-rom operations will still be available but special features will only be available if you reconfigure the virtual device as a SCSI device.'

Okay, can anyone translate this into normal English? What does ATAPI mean? What is DMA? How do I go about it?
