My internet surfing has become intolerably slow. My isp is not forthcoming about its problems, so I can call them about this but won't get answers. I have dial up plus an accelerator. I defrag often, use C cleaner after every online session. I use 'Malware anti-malware' often. I have posted about this slowness, no answers yet. Can someone please advise me as to what program I might download which might diagnose what is going on? Thank you.

I saw in one of your last threads that the number dialed has changed. it might have changed to something further away. Dial-up can be flakey though. You could ask your isp to run a speedtest and tell you what you're getting, and what you should be getting (56k).

Speedtest.net should be plenty of ammo to throw at your ISP. A decent speed is around 45Kbps taking %20 off 56K for 'housekeeping' duties.

I never liked the 'accelerators', all they do is cache common webpage info to seemingly boost your speed. I'd personally get rid of it. Especially stop the accelerator when doing the speed test.

I hope that helps and that I haven't duplicated anything said in your previos threads as I haven't read them.
