What DVD software do I need to playback??

Hi. I have a DVD R/RW player that I don't have any problems with it except that I can't playback movie theater type of DVD's. If I record something to a DVD it playback perfect. But if I try to play a motion picture type of DVD then it doesn't playback. Any ideas?? Thanks for your help.

 

What Operating System are you using? Windows XP's WMP should be able to handle most video formats along with a DVD movie.
What other DVD-Player type software do you have installed?
When you try to play the movie DVD's, what exactly happens? Error messages? If so what does it say?

Go to this page http://home.earthlink.net/~cresho/vd.htm and get the freecodecinstaller (#7 in the first list) and it will install the necessary codecs for you to watch a commercial DVD with WMP9/10 and Zoom player, and perhaps others.
