I use Firefox mainly and here are my array of extensions:

Answers: alt + click on any word you are unsure of. Works great on technology terms too.

Dig This toolbar: Just click digg on the article, automatically posts to Digg.

Google Notebook: Jot down notes or copy articles right into the notebook in the browser.

Web Developer: gives any web designer the perfect toolbar.

Fasterfox: Performance and network teaks for Firefox. also tells how long it takes for a page to load.

Stumble Upon: Pick your categories and when your bored just hit stumble and it will bring you to a random page.

IE View: Opens pages in IE in through the firefox browser. Handy when pages are only viewable in IE.

Gmail Notifier: I use gmail and i just click the envelope in the corner of my browser and it automatically logs on and tells me how many new messages i have.

These are all my extensions, i hope everyone reveals the extensions they have and use. Hope i helped some people out in telling what the extions did.

    I added:
_Scrapbook, a page capture extension. I use it for family trees etc in genealogy sites.
_FoxLingo, a translation tool; MANY languages via a thin toolbar
_Free Download Manager: makes up to four simultaneous connections. Helps a bit since I'm on dialup.
_Copernic Desktop Search toolbar. Obviously, I use Copernic Desktop Search to search my own files. It's hard to keep all the names etc in the genealogy files in my head.
I also added the Ask.com (Ask Jeeves) and Answers (Yahoo) to the search engine set.

the gmail notifier is kinda sketchy you click on that envelope and sometimes its logged off even though its logged on. I love it though. Be carefull as i have many gmail accounts for general, work, etc. but i only have the google homepage with my main general one so when i check a different one i have to log back on to my main. It could be easily solved by just making all of them have google hompages but im too lazy for that. Besides that what are you having trouble with, ive had it for awhile so if you can go into detail i think i will be able to help you. Also solar dog, Stumble Upon is great once you hit that button cuz you could be lost for hours just clicking that button.

I am slowly converting over to Opera, but there are a few things I use FireFox for. Alot of these extensions are standard features of Opera.

Foxy Tunes - in browser audio player controller.
All-in-one-gestures - mouse gestures for faster browsing and control. (standard in Opera)
Colourzilla - for taking colour samples from web pages.
    Chatzilla
    IE tab
    RSS ticker
    Down them All
Video Downloader - for capturing that funny stuff on youtube, google video etc.
    Dictionary tooltip.

I download from the link you recommend as well, but i still have nothing in my firefox window that notifies me of anything, how do you have the options set for the gmail notifier? Thanks

Marty i don't know why it isn't working. One thing try going to tools then extensions, go down to gmail notifier and either hit update of go to website and they might be able to give you some insight. The second option sucks but uninstall firefox completely and delete the directory file. Then reinstall firefox and gmail notifier and it should work.
