What happened I lost everything was wiped clean!

I have windows 8 Basic 64 bit. I am so bummed I have no clue what happened. I traveled to my friends house in another state I turned on my Laptop and everything was wiped clean even my Apps are gone. All my documents, pictures, video's and even my web pages were wiped cleaned and all new IE Firefox browser needless to say, I am shocked. My favorites all gone.


Help! I am in tears.:cry

Is there a way to get it all back?

 

"wiped clean"; but Windows is still there?

Maybe you logged in as a different user?

Check the other users' folders ( C:\Users ).

 

Hmm if your windows is still present may be you did log into another account like pwillener says.

Or if you got a nasty virus that deleted all programs but windows it self.

Try booting into safe mode bye pressing F8 when you restart.And see if all the stuff is in safe mode.

Or if all items are gone try to use Recuve Recuva Portable 1.48.980.

I was doing some in-house cleaning last week and just like you i don't know what happened but all my apps disappeared,fortunately i had system restore and got it all back so maybe you can try that as you still have windows.
