What happened to "My Computer"?

When I opened My Computer a few days ago, it was 'normal'; like it would be if you have just done a clean install of Windows. It had the different sections for removable storage, hard drive, and files. Then one day it just changed. I know for a FACT that I didn't do it. I have since changed the order in which things are listed; I chose to list things by drive letter in a list (instead of icons or tiles or details, etc). But the different sections disappeared. I was browsing the contents of a folder full of media files (audio and video), when I closed it the desktop refreshed and all the icons were 're-drawn', and since then, My Computer has looked like it does in the screenshot below. I have also attached a screenshot from my friend's PC just for comparison.... what happened? How do I fix it? It's not a big deal really, I'm more curious than anything else. The 1st one is mine, the 2nd is my friend's.....

 

Bring up that same screen, in the bar there will be a views box, click on it . There is a few choices to how it is layed out. ed

 

After messing around with it, I got it back to close to how it was (I actually like it better how it is now). It's just wierd that it happened without my input; it changed totally by itself.... :confused Just kind of strange... Thanx for the help
