What hardware do yall recomend?

Greetings m8s,
could yall please recomend to me some sweet hardware to upgrade my system... Here is what i currently have...
pentium D CPU 2.8GHZ
3.12 GB RAM
WINDOWS XP MEDIA CENTER SP2
ALL IN WONDER X800 XL VID CARD
GRAPHICS CARD DRIVER 8.421.0.0
3 TB TOTAL HARD DRIVE SPACE AND SEVERAL CD/DVD AND BLURAY HD DRIVES
Antec Performance I P180 Mid Tower
ECS 945P-A (2.0) MOBO

MY PROBLEM IS THIS SYSTEM NEVER REALLY WAS RUNNING WELL FOR ME DESPITE ANYTHING I TRIED TO DO 4 IT. I BUILT IT FROM SCRATCH AND JUST NOW ADDED THE BLURAY HD DVD PLAYER TO IT BUT IT WONT PLAY BD DISCS.
I WANT IT TO PLAY BLURAY DISCS AND VIDEO GAMES WELL NOT JUST ACCEPTABLE... IM NOT LOOKIN TO SPEND A FORTUNE AS I KNOW COMP PARTS HAVE COME DOWN ALOT SINCE I BOUGHT ALL THIS. MY MONITOR IS A HP2035 20" AND I DOUBT IT WILL EVEN LOOK VERY WELL WITH BLURAY BUT I WANTED TO SEE. HMMM CAN SOME1 PLZ RCMND A GOOD HD VID CARD/MOBO/CPU AND MONITOR...EHHHH LOL THANKS M8S

First: if you don't have a 64bit operating system, there's no point in adding more RAM as it will not be addressed with your current OS. The first thing I'd upgrade is the video card. Really great cards can be had for $100-$150 (see ibbonkers' links above esp. the NVidia card). Then I'd upgrade the CPU but I don't think your current motherboard will handle a quad-core. Here's the list of currently supported CPUs for that board: http://www.ecsusa.com/ECSWebSite/Support/CPU_Support_Model.aspx?detailid=563&MenuID=69&LanID=9 I think you'd be pretty happy with a new video card, at least for the time being. The system should not be slow. I have seen PCs with half your current specs that weren't slow; they weren't gaming PCs, but they did general use type stuff just fine. If your PC is slow, there's something else going on.
