What Have I Been Up To?

I'm so glad you asked that question! (I'm aware no one actually asked me that question haha :p)

Well, I've moved (and will move again soon, this is just a transitional move) from the place I lived at for over a decade because the new land lady is a crazy loon. I found out in April that the building was purchased in January (of this year). Beginning of April, we meet and she's sweet as pie. She tells me about all these upgrades she's going to make and she says (on more than one occasion, we spoke a few times) how nice I am and much she hopes/wants me to stay (she said the same thing to my next door neighbor, who had been living there much longer than I had been). Come April 29th, she emails me and says she decided to not renew my lease and to be out by the end of May. What? o_O Long story short, I had to find somewhere to live, (I did, with a friends parents who are like my own) and packed up all my stuff and put it into storage until I have the cash (deposit) to rent another place of my own

The place I'm living now, the neighborhood is so much nicer, safer and more peaceful. The neighborhood is very scenic, so I've taken up running. At first, I hated the very idea because I'm not very fast and thought that it would be tough on my bad knee but it's actually helped a lot. The first time I could only run about a block before being out of breath but now I've done roughly 3.4 miles in a half hour.

I've also started gardening a little (they have a gorgeous garden in the back of the place I'm living) and it's just so nice and relaxing. I've never understood why people loved gardening so much until now.

I've also changed my diet (a lot!), lost weight and chopped about half my hair off (which I all love!). I'm also ridiculously obsessed with a store called Ulta. I must be shop there (either in store or online) at least 3 times a week and they seriously steal all my money. I just can't stop buying things and thinking I may need an intervention soon.:p

I haven't done anything really "fun" this year like I usually do except spend a few days in D.C with a friend and it was seriously the hottest two days, like ever, in eternity. I fully expected to melt and my lunch and dinners consisted of Starbucks frappuccinos and milkshakes from Chic-fil-a (they are sooooooooo good!), blew my diet but didn't care, it was that hot! haha

Well if you've made it this far, give yourself a hardy pat on the back, congratulations.

Great to see you back Dy :)
That landlady sounds terrible. Lucky they have laws over here that prevent your situation and although they can still not renew your lease they have to give at least 90 days notice so you can make arrangements to move.
Great to hear you are exercising :) and it reminds me I should be doing a bit more than I am currently doing:(
Gardening is also great exercise and it is relaxing at the same time........something about seeing the fruits of your labour when the plants are in flower is very rewarding.
    Pat on back given....thanks :cool::)

    Absolutely not. Ulta is fantastic.

They recently opened a store less than five minutes from where I live. That was a happy day. :)

    Hey dy

Glad to see you, of course! Wish you were still around more often. :)

It sounds like you've made a ton of changes in your life...and pretty much all of them sound like they are great ones. While it was pretty crappy of the new landlady, it sounds like even that worked out for the best.

I'm impressed with the running. And the gardening...one of the best natural zen meditations people can do.

Oh and Ulta...awesome place. There's one about 5 minutes from me. It is really really easy to spend a ton of money in there...and I have. :D

Good for you Jen, glad things are on the up for you. Yeah gardening is known when you start doing it to be very relaxing, unless you come across poison ivy!

Haha, thank you. I was beginning to wonder as my friends when ever they come over are like, "Did you go to Ulta AGAIN?" Then they give me that look.. o_O
