Being a life long rock / metal fan (yes i had long hair and a battle jacket in the late 70's),
i actually stole my 'nick' from a Judas Priest classic 'Night crawler'.
I just wanted to be able to say that i had a song named after me....hehe

I felt my avatar needed to express this. and a deep seated psychological disorder.
My facination with life's 'dark side'.

Is it just me, or do most simple online nicknames say more about you than you actually realize?

    Sigh......this is one sick puppy!!!

  2. Sgt. Tibbs

    Sgt. Tibbs Ultra Geek

Sgt. Tibbs is my other cat, the one who died several years ago. I usually use Felix4067 (my cat and my house number), but several years ago I needed to register at other forums than the one where I work without them knowing it was me, so I chose this.

My avatar is because I'm a Parrothead.

  3. matt.chugg

    matt.chugg MajorGeek

    er its my name lol.

I actually registered to make a point to someone about some comments he made on the software I wrote so I figured i'd use my real name so he'd KNOW I actually was the software author. ;)

Not sure why I have this avatar, I just like it :)

  4. Strange1

Well it certainly fits me and it just happens to be my last name (minus the 1) My avatar is how I feel about myself and it is just one of the ones avail on here. This fits me too. BTW, I really wasn't inspired. Laziness dictates most of my reasoning.

    Shouldn't it read "Mattilda" ? :p

Lev has been my nickname for nearly 10 years and is taking from the band The Levellers. http://www.levellers.co.uk/www/lev_home.php?page=100155&v=1
(I hate their new website format btw).

My avatar I just like...always love to dance to rock music.....let my hair down.......chill....so I guess it is a good reflection of me :)

Nick = Nine Inch Nails CD numbering system ( had to choose a nick for first forum I joined, listening to a CD of theirs and Da DA.... nowt to do with a game as I had the nick well before that was released and while I maybe a daemon at times its not a slipped halo either ;) )

Avatar.. well that changes periodically, as does my signature line... the Monkey is piccy of one of 3 animal cuddly toys to took before giving them as presents, have a nifty alien berry I got from the company that makes Ribena too :)

@n5638j- Ever since I saw him in Baseketball I haven't been able to look at him without laughing. "If you want my body...."

I guess that explains my nick. I avoid avatars and sigs because I'd devote too much time to them if I got into it.

  19. MrPewty

    MrPewty MajorGeek

Mr Pewty was a Monty Python character who was timid, shy, and completely pathetic. And as I am too, it fit me completely.

The bouncy guy is Zebedee. Late of "The Magic Roundabout", I picked him because it's always time for bed, somewhere.

G.T. are my initials, and the avatar was given to me by Star and AbbySue a long time ago. I have other avatars but usually stick with this one. Not only is it my head sticking out the window, my first car was a 65 Mustang; this one looks like a 66, which is pretty darned close. :)

My Nick? I think you can guess, LoL! It's been around a long time, is fairly simple and easy to remember.

My nick is a character from a novel I was/am/might still be writing - though I haven't done anything on it in a number of years  . The avatar is just a pic I had in my files - I believe I found it for one of my sons who was doing a history report on early American flags. I like the flag, and I thought it made a neat looking avatar - plus I wanted something unique.

After all my wife tells me I am very unique . . . but she looks so serious and somewhat sad when she says it . . .

  42. Felinity

    Felinity Private E-2

Oh well, my nick is fairly simple. it's been my nick online everywhere for the better part of 8 years since I first came online. Actually, its usually "Feral_Felinity", as I both work with displaced & feral cats, & I identify strongly with those feline outcasts of society who have it so hard in life.

Rather than CALL myself a cat, which is silly, because I am human, I use this word, because it signifies more "the state of being feline" in nature, where it counts, in the soul, mind & previous lives.

I too, eat from few hands. My trust is tentative at best. But when it is given, it is total.

    And love, deep & never-ending.

My avatar is just a silly little smile for anyone who finds one in it. Ill change it soon to one more fitting of me.

Also when I play X-Box Live my favorite weapon for melee combat was the Energy Sword, which resmebles a blade. So thats where my name came from :D

In Greek Mythology, Prometheos was the Titan who taught primeval mankind the use of fire. To me, this is a metaphor for all things technological. In the course of my career, I've also had the oportunity to enlighten hundreds of my colleagues, hence the avatar of a lighted bulb.:)

I have always loved watching British television shows ever since the very first one I watched which also got me into science fiction as well. Don't get me to list everything I've watched and/or loved because it would be too long to list them here. ;)

As for my avatar, I found this on a web site and fixed it up so that it'll work here since I'm also a huge fan of Doctor Who (yes another British television show).

As many times that I hear those stories, I think how cute they are. I would have to agree how scary they are although by the time I started watching on our PBS station I was (at least I think) barely a teenager.

Of course I started with Tom Baker like many other Americans, but I love it all. My goal right now is to collect the DVDs of the first two Doctors since I haven't seen a lot of them (at least the ones I can watch).
