What is a better pop up and add blocker.

I have yahoo toolbar with pop up ad add option turn on. I would say 90% of the time when I use the internet and go to different web sites I get no pop us. In fact I can go to imageshack of picture and get no pop up.

I hear firefox or IE9 has a much better pop up blocker and add blocker is that true?

Is IE9 better than IE8 ?Should I get IE9?

 

I would do away with IE anything and go with either Chrome or Firefox. Both of the latter have AdBlock Plus available as a plugin, which will block 99.9% of ads and popups you might run into. The 0.1% it misses can easily be added so you never see them again after the first time.

If it's a popup you actually want to see, all you have to do is hold your control key down while you click on something and it'll open.

 

I use Flashblock and love it. Has blocked everything that AVG, Spybot, and Firefox didn't.

 

I use firefox with adblock & noscript. No problems browsing at all. Once in awhile I have to allow noscript to temporarily see the webpage, which is much better than auto-downloading a virus or spyware/malware.

If you are looking for speed try Opera and the same extensions or similar ones exist for script and popup blocking.
