what is a driver. . .other than in golf?

In anoher thread I was asked to go into msconfig and look at some stuff.
then i noticed nVidia service was not running so I used search to look it up
and i noticed that there is a folder with a clamp what is it
Video_nVidia_43_03_ALL_WW_XP_5780-01.exe

and these icons, what ever the are, cannot be seen when IM ing
just a black box

I have windows XP home an I use Trillian as my IM stuff

 

simply put, a driver contains instructions for your computer that allow it to communicate and properly use a peripheral device. It tells the computer how to use something.


what are you trying to accomplish?

I was just wondering what exactly it was. as far as the (?emotiocons?).

I dont't think so. they worked right away when I first used it.
alot of my file associations are messed up and it might have to do with that. and I really dont know to much detail about file associations.
