I am running windows xp 32bit. My computer started lagging badly this evening. When I pulledup task manager and looked at process, ping.exe was eating up all of my cpu capability. I have run superanti spyware, and avg to no avail. I have also tried end process, but it keeps coming back and using up all my cpu power. Any suggestions as to why this is occurring and what I might need to do ?

    Thanks
    Michael

This seems consistent with being infected by Rootkit ZeroAccess + some of its friends. Complete the READ & RUN ME FIRST and post in the Malware forum.

Those logs are supposed to be posted in the Malware Removal Forum. Hopefully an admin here will move them for you.

This executable is a Windows operating system item. There is something causing it to run and for that I refer you to this site... processlibrary.com. Look down and select 'directory', then select P for the alphabetical listings, then on approx. page 40 you can click on ping.exe and check the description. This might lead you to isolating your issue. Good luck.
