what is texture compression & where can I get it?

    I've installed Nascar Thunder 2004 & I get "no support for texture compression" & "DXT texture compression required". Does this mean my video card isn't good enough? I have win XP (sp 2), P3, 512 ram. I believe this is my video card - NVIDIA Vanta/Vanta LT.

    Woah...yeah if you have a Vanta/LT you defently need to upgrade maybe get a 5200/9200 for your system setup at least; they go cheap and will do million times better then what you have currently.

    Hehe, I've never even heard of that card...my friend got a Geforce FX 5200 for $85, so you shouldn't have that much trouble finding one on the cheap.
