What is the Best P2P??

Yes I did a search but there is all kinds of opinons, I just want a streamlined P2P with no spyware. I have win XP home with SP2, also NAV and Norton internet security installed also I'm basic broadband.

All P2P come with spyware/viruses...you just got to be careful what you download. As far as installation including spyware stay away from KaZaA. If you want a good P2P program, the best is LimeWire Pro. & eMule+ ONLY!

 

I use Ares. I almost always get a download connection, its fast, easy, and doesn't contain any spyware.

 

Bittorent, you just have to find the links.

 

Bittorrents good for big things, but if your downloading small files, its not so good.

 

The best P2P is the one that is not installed on your system.

What do you mean by, "...the bigger danger is in the stuff you download." Even in songs? Or are you talking about programs w/ .exe's

I use Morpheus. What i will say though is that on installation it trys to slap Websearch toolbar into your system, but if you have the right tools you can remove it before it gets a foothold. I'd NOT recommend installation if your not sure how to remove this as it can be a right pain!

Morpheus can also be a resource hog. I guess it depends on exactly how badly you want to find the stuff you want, or how good your pc is. I've used it for several years, and apart from when it wants to update (which means battling the new installation of mysearchbar etc) its always done me ok. I say again tho, if your not confident and competant in the removal / stopping of the instalation of the bundled adware, DON'T touch it.

I think http://www.shareaza.com/ is good. It connects to Morp/Kaz, e-mule, and has a bit torrent client.. free - open source - NO spyware...

Aaahh! I see. Very nasty business. I'm sure that's just the beginning of the kind of damage that could be done.

OT - I had installed the latest version of Windows Media Player and it reported to me that I was attempting to play an unlicensed song. I thought, to heck w/ this. I uninstalled it and reinstalled the previous version. Later I decided to download WinAmp as my primary player and I never grant it access.

What are you trying to download?

I'm using bitspirit , a good bittorrent client.

Real good for big files, like lossless music, dvd's, etc.

 

I can see this getting closed very soon.

winmx is good.

 

Bearshare. may sound funny since it once sucked, but the new free version is blazingly fast for a Gnutella client (limewire, shareaza and the likes). While it dumps a small adware program on you until you remove it once with Ad-Aware, the speed benefit is worth it.

i download popular things at around 3-4Mbit/s which is prtty damn impressive for a p2p.
