What is the risk ?

    Quick question to all you experts in this forum i got a geforce 8800GTX this card requires a power of 450 watts. i only got 400 watts so what is the risk if i use the graphics card on my own risk could my motherboard explode or is that not gonna happen with a difference of 50 watts can somebody please help me with this question i dont wanna make any dumb mistakes before its 2 late ?

    If the card itself requires 450W then that does not take into account the power the rest of the system needs.

    If you run the computer with too little power, then there is a chance that you could damage system components irreparably.
