what is this

    my puter slowed down and i found this tring to access the net

    c:windows/system32/svhost.exe is trying to access the internet

    ALSO

    c:/windows/system32/fxssvc.exe is trying to access the internet


    i ran virus checks [2 diff.virus prog] also trojan nothing found what are these are they malicous ,do i need them

    Well, svchost.exe is the core file for most MS services, I would leave it alone. Firewalls pick that up all the time trying to access the internet. Its is probably the DHCP Client or DNS Client services accessing the net.

    fxssvc.exe is the MS fax service, so it would tend to access a network resource when monitoring for faxes :)

    thanks ! i am using win xp pro and if i go to msconfig and go services i have 67 srevices that are running are all these needed to run
