I'm having a problem loading a wireless adapter it keeps telling me that instPSC.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. I can install this device on all my other desktops and laptops. The device is a trendnet tew-424ub does anyone know what this is and how can i resolve this problem. P.S I have ran just about every malware spyware and anti virus i can think of and no virus detected.

    Thanks
    Carl

It looks like the driver for your wireless adaptor but I can't confirm this because I can't find any info on it on the process, does the computer our tryna install the adaptor on have a different OS to the others?Have you had it working on this computer before?

First thing to try would be to uninstall the old driver from add/remove programs and install the latest driver from here or if it isn't in add remove programs just skip to the next step.

I've downloaded it and none of the driver files have exe. so you'll have to install them manually by going into control panel device manager find our wireless adaptor, update driver, have disk and point it to the .inf file for your OS.

Thanks Rikky, I downloaded and tried everything you suggested but to no avail i have two setups of windows xp and two of vista it works on both vista and one of the xp computers.I just can't find out what this instPSC.exe is rather it's a virus or an xp driver i'm missing.I also notice that my scsi/raid host controller is missing and this computer won't let me re-install it with my motherboad disk.Boy it really suck just being a computer novice right about now.

    Thanks Again

We need a little more info, first what happens you try to install the driver file I pointed you to?Does it take?Does your adapter show up in device manager?

Does instPSC.exe stop the driver from being installed or does it just stop the device from working?

I've done a few more searches and I still can't find a process with that name.

do you have a desktop pc or laptop?
you may just want to get a wireless card instead of adapter (plan on buying a wireless card soon because i just got wireless internet service and the only wireless card i currently have is built into my laptop).
