    yeah i have mostly seen those. I have seen some of the more annoying ones though like the ones that are flashy and the ones that look like you have one new message.

    I thought the ads were through vbulletin? if not then I don't see why those crazy blinking and swirley ads are on here. I also think those ads that depict actually OS windows like the ones that say "A virus has been detected" or something. I hate those ones even though i'm smart enough not to click on those. I think its wrong to have an ad like that. I mean, fooling someone into going to a website is just wrong. and the blinky ones just give you headaches :p

    Neo ... sadly advertising uses any method to get you to choose or remember a product .. thats why on TV or Radio they use those damm awful tunes that mess with your head.. you know the ones ... they are so bad and repetitive that you end up singing or humming them all day!!!!

    as you say care is needed when clicking any popup ... BUT MGs dont use any nasty ad techniques or distastfull and if one slips by they are pulled quickly.

    Well, its not my site, and I don't have a say in it. However, it means I can no longer view it at work because of it (I could lose my job over something this minor), and can no longer bring my customers that call me to it because it may offend them.

    CP and myself are discussing it while viewing this thread this very minute. While I have no problem with matchmaking ads, I find guys in drag and similar pretty sick myself. Were going to get them removed, but it might take a few hours to happen.

    Problem is, there are some ads your seeing that are just WAY over the top for what is acceptable content here. We just browsed them and sadly they are paying REAL well and running a LOT of ads, but I prefer top sleep at night then piss off our readers. Some ads, you might not have seen yet, are pretty vulgar. Matchmaking and geeks go well together, but this is just inappropriate.

    Looks like there was a bit of a mistake... dating ads are pretty common, they are categorized as suggestive and dating. The suggestive slipped into our rotation which we don’t allow. I left the dating which are more like this - which "should" be politically correct enough. Yes?
