    Hi
    I have HP a1700n.
    The basic spec is

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ 2.00 GHz
    Memory: 2 GB (512x2 + 1024 DDR2 SDRAM)
    OS: Windows Vista 32-bit
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT 512 MB DDR2
Hard Drive: 187GB free of 370GB
Monitor : 226BW Black 22" 2 ms (GTG) Widescreen LCD Monitor

Yeah... I've put some extra memory and graphic card.
I belive my computer has pretty decent spec to play NFS:prostreet.

The problem is that I have set all the graphic quialities to the lowest in order to make the race smooth; even a tiny detail seem to slower my computer. I want to play the game like PS3 or Xbox360, if you know what I mean... What other part do I have to upgrade to make the game go faster with more detailed graphic??

    Please help me out, thanks.

It's most likely vista is causing you problems (it's a memory hog).
And running your game in higher detail is going to take more resources.
I should know i used to run vista on my old hp pavillion 1619h pc, now i'm running a home built pc with a intel duo core 2 cpu and windows xp home edition.

Vista is not the problem. Games perform equally well for me in Vista as they did in XP. Your processor is dated and your video card isn't exactly a stellar performer in the gaming arena. Try dropping the resolution down 1024x768 and play using medium settings. It won't look anything like PS3 or 360 graphics but it will be playable.

not true vista will work with 512 but recommends 1 gig.
and some new games need up to 1 gig of memory or more.

And he already has 2GB available so its not really an issue. The major bottleneck here is the processor and video card. They're just not powerful enough to play the game with PS3/360 graphics.

If you're dual booting, reinstall the game in windows and then copy over your saves files to the new directory in XP. Try Google to find out where they're located, I don't know off hand.
