626ms and I know this ain't good. Speedtest.net and my ISP give me these figures and my ISP uses speedtest.net afaik. My upload should be around 800Kb and down should be around 8Mb. The ISP says there's nothing wrong.:confusedrolleyes Any hints folks?

It's not often my connection goes bad but these folks say there's no issue but I often get a 404 and my upload speed does suck as I upload some 100MB/day while folding, the Stanford collection servers don't like this at all. Anything else I can do? Thanks.:)

Did some investigating on this augie and some possible solutions.
Go to command line and use ipconfig /flushdns.
Try different servers for the test and see if any change.
Any problems with ethernet cable, kinks/ends loose, can you change it for another one?
Router firmware and NIC drivers up to date? (Probably but just asking;))

Prolly a back end issue with the ISP.
Ran a tracert to stanford F@H got a 356ms ping. Nothing to write home about! Lousy ping on this particular connection any way for any domain.
Run a tracert next time. If on a router check the ping on the second hop, this is your ISP.
Ping it and check the time.
    I hate networking. :p
    Cheers..

Ya, I think that's what happened too, maybe that's why I was on hold for over an hour before finally giving up on tech support and they usually answer fairly quickly even on weekends. It is strange though as they usually have a recorded voice when there's an issue and an ETA on when it could be fixed. They are replacing the main copper trunk lines with fibre so maybe that was what caused it.

Hehehe on hating networking, me too.:-D Oh, 10ms ping time now.:cool
