what make/size ddr2 RAM

    hi all,

    got 512mb 2rx16 pc2-4200s 444-12 times two !!
    want to add more but does it matter what make etc...

    my laptop is a sony vaio vgn-fs515b,, whats the best thing i can do are they backward compatable etc....
    have opened the back and should be easy to upgrade, is it worth adding more, what make is best..

    Go here http://www.crucial.com/ and either use the scanner tool or the advisor aside of it.
    The site will tell you the maximum amount of memory your laptop can handle, if it needs to be installed in pairs, if it is ECC or non-ECC, and the speed(s) that it can handle.
    You do not need to buy from crucial but be sure you write all the information down so you have it when you shop.
