What partitions should I clone?

Not sure if this should be under 'hardware' but I'll give it a try ;-)

I just bought a new idea pad and have set it up with all my programs etc and have cloned what I think is correct but maybe it isn't.

All the partitions came as in the png with the exception of the 'M' partition which I set up for the clones.

I know what the C and D partitions are but what are all the others and what should I be cloning.

    Two disks?

    Thanks,

    Michael

Open up the directory to the "M" drive and see what's on it. Given it has 98.9GB of files, my guess is it's storage for pictures, music and/or video files.

I'm assuming this is all on one physical drive. If in doubt, I'd clone the entire drive onto a single drive with the partitions intact - in addition to the "D" drive, some of the other partitions may be part of the factory restore process.

If either the old or new drive is a Western Digital or Seagate, you can go to the respective drive mfr.'s website for free cloning software.

    Hope this helps. :)
