What programme to upload to my webpage?

Hi all. I have just registered my free webspace with Pipex. Is there a freeware programme to upload my pages or should I buy something from someone like Cute FTP?

i used to have a registered acct for cute ftp, but my h/d crashed, and i lost most of my data (including my validation e-mail)!!
