Difference between single and double sided is,

Single sided.. ram chips on one side of module
Double sided .. ram chips on both sides

what type was the ram that came out of it? if single I would be inclined to go with single sided again, some older boards can have issues with doublesided ram, rare tho and I've not come across it yet.

If your going with Crucial who are fairly cheap then they will send you the correct ram.

Be cheeky and call crucial and ask if their memory is single or double sided then with answer in hand go local ;)
