what settings affect ram speed the most

I was just considering tightning the timings on my ram, but am not sure which timings would be best to test first. CL, trcd, trp, tras, trc, etc. Also what utility would you recommend to test the ram after tweaking? Currently running Infineon pc3200 cl3 @ 333mhz, cl2.5, trcd 3, trp 3, tras 7, command rate 2t.

oh yes, I have read this, but it only tells what the settings are for. I'm looking for a speed freak to help me set up my mem to its best settings possible!

yes...it is!

 

The most by far is the first timing cas latency,the ram you have is cas 3 3200 and your running it at 2700 speeds 333mhz Cas 2.5,theres a good chance you can lower the Cas down to 2,its practically like overclocking your ram directly with this number and should give you a memory performance boost of about 10 -20 %,sis sandra has a good memory benchmark tool,as does everest available in the all in one tools section here at MG,run the test now and then again when you have lowered the timing
