What software should I be running?

I run ad-aware, spybot search and destroy and spyware blaster on a regular basis. I also have antivi installed as my main antivirus application.


I have been trying spyware guard for a while. It's okay but I feel that it really isn't doing anything since my browsers are pretty secure and I don't have activeX enabled.




My question is... what FREE active software(s) should I be running in the background to help protect me against spyware, trojans and everything else.
