I have a friend who is still on dial up, due to his location, he does not have drivers for his modem and does not know what model or make it is..I was wondering is there software that can be installed to let him know what make and model it is?

    Any help would be appreciated..

He may have to open his case and physically look at the modem to get make and model to search for drivers.

Yes this was what i was hoping he did not have to do, although it is simple enough for those that ahve done it, he lacks the trust in himself to even attempt it.

I've fought that particular problem before.

I'm assuming he has tried the generic modem setups, before some manufacturers got greedy they were pretty standardized.

If all else fails he could get a documented modem from eBay or a local computer store cheap (not a good solution, but it works).
