What the hell with sites like www.whitepages.com

how do sites like this get past my pop up blockers? every other site for the most part is properlly blocked, except a few, and this is one. what is going on that they are able to show their stupid pop ups.

What OS you using plus SP version, as if your using XP and SP2 the blocker with IE works on that site fine.

I have heard that googles toolbar and popup blocker are pretty good and worth a try.

yea i switched to firefox to see if the problem fixed and it seems to have.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean?

I tried the site on both IE and Opera and there were no popups.

I went to this site and i got the pop up.

If you are in opera you can do this to disable the pop up.

press ctrl + f12 (or tools menu- preferences)

In the pop up field , select "open all pop up"

Or when opera blocks a pop up, it als asks "click here to open" ( on the top right)

you can click there to open the opo up.
