I am running Phoenix or Award BIOS on a PM8PM-V with only memory/cpu, keyboard installed and I just get a single long beep that keeps repeating endlessly. What does this mean. Is it a memory thing or sommat more serious?

Are your fans blocked from sucking air in?(i.e. are they against a wall)

Nope the entire system is sitting in the middle of a table. Nothing blocking anything inside.

Also I have removed the memory and no change int he beep code. Does this suggest it does not recognise memory? However, this has onboard graphics which generates no pic at the mo, so how would that relate to memory?

Thanks, thats useful. Problem is it still says well might be memory, might be mobo, might be cpu. These are expensive guesses, i need to narrow them down somehow.

What does the beep mean? Atypical signal for memory conflict issue, even though crucial said it was compatible rant rant...

Have you got/tried a previously used stick of other memory to test it with?
The bios beep does appear to be memory, but, if your memory is new, and it works in another system, I would consider trying it with a video card, to see if it is not the on-board graphics.

I havn't got another system to try the memory in sadly. My guess is that the memory might be single sided which my mobo cant take. This info is not really advertised much as far as I can tell for memory. Dont know though. Not sure what to do with it.

My other suggestion, regarding a video card ? worth a try, if you have one.
Otherwise if you bought the memory new, and RMA'd the memory, especially if the manufacture/supplier indicated it was correct, or, see if they will change it for two sided ?
