What Video card can I get

I have a Dell Dimension E310. It has a PCIe x1 connector. I want to get a Video card that will take full advantage of Windows Vista. You know, Aero and everything. I can't find any cards compatible with the x1 connector, not any that don't cost $400-$600 dollars anyway. Plenty of websites have video cards for much less but they all have an x16 connector.

If I purchase an x1-x16 PCIe adapter, so that I can fit an x16 card in my Dell, will it work? I know there will obviously be a speed decrease, but would it be sufficient enough to run Aero?

Is this the right way to go or is there something better?

he only has a PCI-E 1x slot and 2 PCI slots

the best card for 1x is the x1550 here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161079 though since it's low profile it wont really fit in your case without modification.
