Just about every CD I've purchased at an un-signed rock band's concert. It seems so good live, but then you put it in the cd player and you're all "This is what I just saw?!" I saw this one band at my university about 2 years ago, and I could swore they were the next Pitchshifter (british industrial metal group...pretty good. you should check em out), so I bought the CD they were selling. It was the most god-awful, tone-deaf crap I've ever heard. Bands like that should ask for donations, and just GIVE away the cd's. More exposure that way anyway. Sure, you may take a loss, but it's all about the music....riiiiight?...Actually, better yet, they should record themselves playing live!

I dunno really, whatever it was, it was long. long ago! 'Prolly something classical in nature. Those that know me and my vintage will probably realise the original composer was most likely still alive.

Believe it or not, I was nine years old when I bought 40 oz. to Freedom by Sublime. I had to hide it for years, so that my parents wouldn't kill me.

I know it's NOT a CD, well is now , but wasn't then. "Rubber Soul" by the Beatles (Mono). guess that dates me! Still have it and it still plays well. I still have over 2,00 Albums (33 1/3 RPM Vinyl things) over 400 Albums( 78 RPM older things) and about 100 VERY OLD EDISON DISCs. About 40-8 track tapes, 2 4-track tapes , 200+ cassette Tapes and Over 1,00 CDs. Sure now they come out with digital music which requires very little shlf space for storage.... BUT can they give you the skip of a record or the hiss of a tape???? NOOOOO
You could always tell a gr8 party alnum by how many skips it had.

Can't really remember-- was nearly 20 years and over 1000 CDs ago. Probably some "show off the new toy" all-digital recording disc with orchestral movie themes and synthesizer instrumentals. Very popular back then was anything recorded/mixed/mastered digitally-- didn't really matter if you had ever heard of the artist or not. Lots of new age crap, Kitaro, Flim & the BBs, Mannheim Steamroller, James Newton Howard, Sheffield Labs recordings (the equivalent of Mobile Fidelity even before MF got into CD)-- digital was the new buzzword.

First CD player was the original Sony DiscMan D-5 portable-- brand new, $300, only three in town to be had Christmas that year, and I got one to give as a gift. She kept bugging me to tell her what she was getting-- I got fed up and finally just said "a CD player". It shut her up, alright, as she never would have believed that little package was in fact a CD player. Should have seen the look on her face when she opened it.

A friend worked at a stereo store, and the owner-- in lieu of paying his health insurance for him-- gave him 6 CDs a month free. Some months there wasn''t anything he liked, but he took 6 discs just the same. Anything he didn't care for, or tired of quickly, he offered to me-- free! He had, even back then, an Japanese import CD of the Beatles' Abbey Road-- domestic issues of any Beatles albums on CD were still years away-- it was like the CD Holy Grail. I can remember never being more shocked than when he gave it to me for Christmas one year.

You bet. I picked-up Dark Side Of The Moon on CD shortly after that so I don't damage my first printing vinyl release.

PULSE concert is pretty good also.
