Hi everybody! I'm very new at follow stuff, so please help me, if someone can!
There is a little network (37 computers) with 37 TB shared storage and not really a lot of money. What is the best way to optimize data transfer and to backup successfully?
    Thank you for now!

Do you have that entire 37TB to backup? Are you asking about what type of media will be best for backing up that large of a volume of data?

as for data transfer, what kind of data are you transferring? gigabit nics would be the way to go if your users are transferring large files in your network.

to be safely and correctly managed, 37 computers need a backup server, and Network management backup application, to be corretly managed.

Without a detailed description about this Network there is no real way to help.

It ain't going to being cheap either.

Hi Im also curious as at the moment im managing about 15 pc's and am currently using comodo backup (shedueled) to back up the outlook, everyday at logon and then the files in the my documents every second day. im very curious, what is better to back up the system state or just the registry of each computer and could this be the answer for those times when a system restore doesnt want to work.

    Thanks Xit
    :confused

P.S. i have a 2003 server running which is my primary backup but do i need to invest in some form of NAS device.

There is no network now. I'm just getting to build it. We're new company. Data is chiefly video and foto files

System State backs up registry and critical files needed for Windows to boot.

Depending on what those computers are used for, it might be a better idea to use imaging software to make a clone of a "stock" drive. Meaning anything you need on your company computers for users to do their job, Windows updated to current, etc., should be installed on a fresh Windows install. Then make a clone or image of that install. If you need to re-image a computer after a disk failure, you can go back to that image you created.

Any files created by you or the user could be backed up to a network storage drive, then using your backup software, backup the whole storage drive. You could then go to your backup to restore any files you or the user is missing after the re-image.

And what backup software is better to use in my case?
    Is there any bundle solution?

Ive been using ntbackup, but ill be getting a license for symantec backup exec soon. you could try ntbackup if you want, otherwise if you have the budget get backup exec.

Throughout the network? gigabit nics and switches with some cat6 cable.

Thank you. I think it is all good. But about software, is there any bundle solution?

You should talk to Symantec about that. If youre looking for Backup Exec and maybe Endpoint or something...
