So I ended up working for this guy named King. First name Wayne...
I have never felt so stupid in my life. Imagine being a carpenter , like I am, and having some one give you instructions on how to sharpen a pencil!!! Or worse imagine having someone yell at you from the bottom of a ladder, while you do what you are trained to do...Then the (not so very nice person)(to put it very nicely) screames at you for 14 hours straight, all the while you suppress your urge to stike at temple spot and make hammer happy.
Whew I now have more work, but imagine doing what you do, to have an Idiot greedily and harrassingly try to teach you how to do grade 1 basics!
I am so mad ..at least I got over it 7 days ago!

    Anyways,
I used to live in Vancouver, and there we had 99.3 The Fox(FM)
They had a special every morning called:
    Lick me today!
No names were allowed...or swears, just a way to let every one know how you felt about the big licker of the day!
Hopefully someone upthere sees this, because it could be lots of fun(with rules of course).....
    So here is mine...
I am glad I quit working for you, you chimped me out 4 or 5 dollars a paycheque, made me work way too long in the pissing rain....called me stupid too much.....Havnt held a single worker for more than a month at a time, plus way more.....
    (no last names)
    Wayne...Lick me today!!!
    Hehe
Every one need a daily output...and to read others makes your own not to bad....
    Hope some one gets it!!

    LICK ME TODAY!!

Glad you have work Jaza :)

But working for an Ass like that takes some self restraint, but then some bosses like to give the noobie the alpha male treatment to knock them down, never understood the need to talk down to someone ( especially the pencil thing ) but guess some get a kick out of it... best thing is to be like me and my selective hearing..... sorry what you say again? LMAO.

Been there, done that, have the Tee-shirt. ;)

Smile, do what he wants you too, and keep looking for a better job. Unless you can afford to be not working for some indeterminate time, you need the paycheck. Quitting will be very enjoyable. ;)

i have absolutely no self restraint in those circumstances. i would have simply said ' excuse me, please dont talk to me like i am an idiot.' or 'i assume your previous employees were none too bright. i think you will find that you can comfortably treat me as the intelligent, talented adult that i am.' or words to that effect. people often get into the habit of talking down to others. it does no harm to point it out, as long as you are super polite about it. aloha

Sometimes, not always laurie. My last boss would have taken that as a personal attack and ramped up the abuse, or fired him for insubordination, regardless of how tactfully put. He didn't do that to me, as he needed me, KNEW I'd go elsewhere in a hurry, and I knew what buttons not to push, but I saw it on the shop floor all the time. I worked more with his wife, who ran the office (we got along fine), or I'd likely have left much sooner. Even though not the focus of his bad temper, I was happy to find a better job when I did.

I think the Buddhist point of view would be that it is an opportunity to practice self-restraint. hahahaha ... There are many ways to set limits with unreasonable people. One is to walk out. One is to exaggerate your position, and say things, like "oh realy? Is that how it's done?" scratch your head and look extra dumb. Or just start laughing. But I like a good bolt hole when it looks like things aren't going to change.
(hmmm chocolate chip cookies ... the ESP was slow today)

I would have said nothing, for at quitting time on the first day, he or she would have four flat tires...:)

I think my polite sarcastic humor would have been given a good airing, especially with the sharpening of a pencil issue......a big cheesy grateful grin followed by "Why thank you...I was wondering about that! That's really helpful advice".
