What's a good DVD copy software

What is the better software for burning back-up's?Also is there any good shareware for this purpose or is it all going to cost $$$. Is there a good shareware (freeware) with no spyware for playing DVD on the PC??? I got this burner OEM and I can't even try it because it keeps telling me that I need a decoder!!!($$$). Also I have an old copy of DVD Xcopy express that dosen't rad anything either (errors!!!). Please help!!I think maybe the burner is no good??

 

Well, your burner isn't necessarily bad.

1) Regarding playback - the reason it complains that you have no decoder is that prior to playing movies, you NEED to install a DVD PlayBack software like powerdvd. You could try downloading the trial version of that, see if it works, and if it does, you know that your DVD burner is fine.

2) Backup of movies I can't really help with, as as far as I know, doing that is not strictly legal, or even if it is, it can easily be used to do illegal things. But yeah, there are tools out there that make backing up a DVD easy as abc.
