So many things, I've been super busy I forgot to share some news!..

    1. I got a job, about 6 weeks ago and I want to quit already. LOL I won't though, because well, I think I just need to get used to it. It's something I've never done before and is a HUGE change from what I used to be doing (it's a dr's office). The hours are grueling (I work 9+ hours a day with a hour travel time each way), the job itself is quick paced, and there's a lot that encompasses what *my* job entails. My coworker makes me what to pull my hair out because she literally refuses to help me when I ask her to sometimes, sometimes she very helpful... it depends on her mood.

On the other hand, the dr is very pleased with my work and tells me at least once a week or more how well I'm doing and I got a $1 raise after only being there for one month, so it's not all bad.

    2. I think I have an online shopping addiction. :-D I'm in a facebook group and they posted this deal/website and I am obsessed with it. I just purchased all these items (3 pairs of shoes, 3 necklaces, 2 pairs of earrings, 1 scarf, 2 purses) for $60! and it's really hard for me to not want to go and buy more.

    3. I also broke down and bought myself a tablet, the laptop I have now is literally falling apart I've had it for so long. I had been wanting one and I got a good deal on it, so I just HAD to get it!

Do I need an intervention yet?? :-D

    OOoooooooo...pretty sparkly shiny things! :-D

I'm probably no help on the shopping addiction as I just went and bought myself some nice bright colored spring clothes, even though its still 30 degrees out, just so I wouldn't pull my hair out. Sooo....I'm pretty sure there'll be no intervention coming from me. LOL

Congrats on the job and the quick raise! Sounds like your coworker is trying to assert her seniority just a bit. It seems you just can't take the high school out of some people.

    Thanks Laura!

As for the cw - maybe, it's particularly frustrating when I'm swimming in things I need to get done and she's like I don't feel like doing anything!! *sigh

This is why I buy stuff.. and eat.. maybe we can have an intervention together, Laura? LOL

As long as the intervention involves shopping and then lunch....my two favorite things. roflmao

How long has she been there? If she's been there for a long time, maybe she is one of those that is complacent and would rather do the minimum required. Either way, it's got to be frustrated. Hopefully she isn't someone who tries to take credit for your work.

Of course!! how else would we have an intervention? :-D:-D

As for the cw, she's been there for many years, so maybe that's it.

Why is it that - when I need men's shoes - I can never find anything decent (even on sale) for less than $40 per pair?

This is a classic case of discrimination against men. :-D

Congrats again on the job and in a Dr's office. indeed it will be a huge change from other jobs, I know only too well as my job is medical research and I work with profs and surgeons as well as training junior docs in image diagnosis. Plus the lingo is unique and a lot of latin is still around for medical conditions, the acronyms are a PITA at times for conditions, but you will get used to it.

I have the pitfall of being at the start of research projects and we have to in a way make it up as we go as no one else has done same work, latest is in Malarial Retinopathy in Central Africa.

If a Dr thinks your work is good then it is and good for you as they can be fussy in who they trust, so seems this Dr trusts you and that is good.

#2 NOW there is a surprise!
    #3 what tablet you get?

    NICE Boots though :)

Can't say for sure about your coworker but sounds similar to a work situation I had years ago when I was the new employee. I did everything I was suppose to do and more and did it very well and productively in a timely manner, that is just my work ethic. Subsequently I think a few of the coworkers resented that it showed they needed to be more efficient.
Good luck with your new job.

Congrads on the job, and may the pay overcome your shopping addiction!

What kind of tablet did you buy?
