if not, I'll either be playing DotA (WC3: TF map), C&C: Generals or soccer if the weather permits it :)

yes... july 4th doesn't mean anything to me, but I'm not american so that's logical :)

Probably still getting over eldest sons birthday party. Born on the second of July 1975 to an OZ dad and a USA mum. We hoped he might wait another 2 days until the 4th. Didn't happen though. Bazza

It's been a tradition for several years to
watch the Boston Pops Orchestra on TV
    on July 4.
    Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture is usually
the finale and is quite inspirational.

    Maggie :)

Boston Pops, is that a Dad's Group? HAHAHAAHA!
    Good one!

My brother lives in Massachusetts so I've developed
a fondness for Boston over the past few years
and have been able to visit him twice.

OK, in honor of lostkiwi, I plan out getting totally wasted, picking a fight with a cop, and spending the night in jail.

    Is that better? :p :D

    Oh gawd :D NO!
You can come to some kind of compromise can't you.
Don't want to be bugging xflat for bail!!

@maggie: I love the Boston Pops on the 4th, for a couple of years it would be the only thing we could watch on tv after getting home from our own celebrations.

    You crack me up xflat!

I like Boston Pops; got some of their stuff on disc. Although for the 1812 Overture, the old Telarc CD is the best I've heard. No compression or limiting; the cannon shots will rattle your windows.

It's ironic that a Russian composition has become the most popular tradition for the U.S. Independence Day celebrations.

It will be a great holiday for me...I have to work a 12 hour shift, 6am to 6 pm. What makes this great for me is that all of the in-laws are coming about 8 am and leaving about 4 pm........absolutely wonderful. :p

    G.T. R.I.P February 4, 2007. You will be missed.

Are you getting paid time-&-a-half to miss your inlaws? That would be perfect! :D

HA ! Since the fourth falls on Sunday I get straight time for holiday pay, plus double time for actual hours worked. Gonna be puttin' some sheckles in my puter savings account. I almost got enough saved to build/ have built what I want.
My wife got steamed when I told her I had to work and she was stuck ALL DAY with HER relatives...it seldom happens when such pure justice happens. :D
