Hmm. What is the "Hot" point? Mine has ran 150F.

    I just changed cases.

Note: this hardware isnt in my computer yet. Exept the Soundcard and graphics card.

Got a water cooling system on the way.
2case fans. That makes 3. 1Gb of memory. have 512. psu on the way, 500W antec smartpower 2.0. From newegg <3. 128mb graphics card. 2 hd's 2 cd drives. and a soundcard.

That's kinna hot, although that's pretty normal for a presscott. What CPU do you have? Keep in mind that some CPUs suck up 100w of electricity. Touch an average 60w light bulb, that's pretty hot right?

Most use Celsius instead of Fahrenheit for PC temps. 150F is only 65.5C - a bit high, but not too bad for some of the current hot processors. I like to keep mine below 50C, while above 60C, I start getting a bit concerned.

Over 60°C then your getting towards top end temps for safety with most newer CPUs but best to keep the temps under 50°C, average with air cooling and P4/AMDs would be in the 30-40°C +/- a few °C at idle.

Water I would suspect somewhere in the 30°C's would be good.

I consider 140F ( 61C i think) as the "hot" point as you put it....

My cpu on idle is 45~65c :(
damn .. something is wrong here ...

    you are safe ..
you cpu runs at kinda low temp. so its perfectly fine ;)

Kinda on the upper end their Sarge, check.........

    1. Is case interior and hardware all clean and dust/fluff free?
    2. I would be tempted to clean CPU termal paste off and renew.
    3. Tidy up interior or case ( wires cables etc ) as it does help shave off a few °C
    4. Case fans.. how many, where and blowing air in what direction?
    5. Room temp... if your in a cold enviroment and have heating on then this adds a fair amount of heat.
    6. Look for new Heat Sink... maybe a copper one as they are good heat exchangers(not the word I was looking for but... )
    7. whats telling you your temps, try another program as a 2nd opinion/clarification.

I guess you kinda know about that stuff ..
is there a way I can contact you and ask you question on some Instant Messagin' program ?
    1. dust free and clean
    2. on sunday I will get a new HSF and arctic silver 5 .. and then will do it ..
    3. tidy but I can even make it even tidier ;) usin round cables instade of ribbon ones although there is only 1 IDE cable in there .. also .. tie all the PSU cable together and put the in the back of the case behind the metal shieldin' ..
    4. fans .. well, Front -> 1 generic fan on the front .. on the same level abit after that fan I got a Thermaltake 7+ (3000~6200rpm) .. both takin air from the outside into the case ..
Back -> 2 generic fans, on above the other .. takin air from the case outside ..
Side -> on the buttom on the side door Ive got a generic fan that takes air from the outside into the inside ..
The PSU (located on the top\back of the case) Has 2 fans .. takin air outside I think ...
on the CPU I have HSF (Spire CoolWave III) and I put on the thermal paste that came with it ..
    5. Room temp. ? I guess 22c. cause Im freezin' :)
    6. Will get some better HSF for the cpu on sunday + get arctic silver 5 ..
    7. I tried couple of programs + the bios .. (I think that either the sensors givin' bad readin' or that the Bios is messed up)
I will upload some pictures but there seem to be limitation here so I will upload to Image shack and edit this message later with pictures ;)

Sarge..the AS5 will make a good difference in lowering temps, do make sure that you clean all the old stuff off ( isopropyl Alcohol or medial steri wipe gives a nice clean and grease free surface ) the CPU and when applying AS5 dont use too much a thin layer is all thats needed.

    k .. mate .. thx for the responce ..
I managed to get the cpu idle temp. to ~35c and the MB\case to ~30c ...
    :)
cleaned some dust .. again .. and took out the mobo .. arranged the cables .. also .. the HSF wasnt attached very good .. one of the pins wasnt attched all the way ..
so I worked on that for 15min. until I managed to fix it .. and I actived the side door fan as well ..
:) hmm .. I will try to lower the temp. even more ...
I think that I will change all the fans to thermaltake 80mm (the orange ones) .. 2 in the back and 2 on the front .. and also get a panel for their speed .. :)

Great temps now Sarge :) a -10°C drop is superb, shows what a little care and attention to detail actually works wonders.

yeah .. But I wanna replace my currant cpu HSF with something better ..
and get arctic silver .. this will get me some even lower temperatures ;)
and replace some of the fans with 4 thermaltake 80mm with front pannel to control the RPM :) of each of them ...

Zalman CNPS7700-Cu HSFs are worth a look at, but go copper with the HS for the heat disipation that copper holds over Alu... more expensive but I think its worth the extra.. I have a coolermaster copper HS on my P4 and is vastly superiour to the retail boxed Alu cooler.

can you recommend something alittle bit smaller ?
like 90x90 .. (I dont want some 120 giant HSF :( it will block one of my memory slots)

ah yes sadly those beasts are HUGE!

next option I would go for is Thermalright XP-90 series, the TR site has motherboard compatability lists as well http://www.thermalright.com/

XP-90 copper right ? (not aluminum)
and .. is it only a HS ? so I will have to buy a fan seperatly ... right ?

Yes copper and you do have to add the fan of your choice to it, so you can go quiet or load as hell ;)

I generally lookup reviews on things like these, to see waht a variety of folk say about them...

I ask around here as well ..

also .. shouldnt I get some thermaltake HSF ? I want something that is kinda silent .. about 90x90 in size .. easy to install .. and well .. do a good job coolin down the cpul :)

XP-90 is Aluminum with copper core.
XP-90c is solid copper, which is too heavy for Most MOBO's.

The best deal is on the XP-90, "Best bang for the buck"

The copper version XP-90c only gain besides to much weight is about 2 degrees C & more money.

There is retail version of XP-90 that does come with a fan, I would just get OEM & Panaflo H1B 92mm fan:
    http://www.jab-tech.com/Thermalright-XP-90-Retail-pr-2474.html
    Here's OEM:
    http://www.jab-tech.com/Thermalright-XP-90-OEM-pr-2921.html
Here's the Too heavy Copper one, Pretty though:
    http://www.jab-tech.com/Thermalright-XP-90C-Copper-Heatsink-pr-2836.html
There are several threads here at MG on these Thermalright's use the Search feature.

    I have a P4 3.0 & XP-90 with Panaflo H1B, Idel 30c max load 44c

sounds good... but do you think that my mobo can hold that thing ?
how can I tell if its can manage the weight ? (Asus P5LD2-VM)
