I've recently purchased a Toshiba Satellite M35X-S349 laptop. Intel Pentium M Processor 735, 80GB, 512MB, IEEE 1394, Microsoft Windows XP Home edition.

I have two problems. The first is that I have a dialer program that I can't remove from my computer. I've run Spybot, Adaware and have removed/cleaned all dialer, TIBS extensions. This has not solved the problem. I also tried removing the extensions from my registery (after creating a backup). This also did not work.

My second problem is that my IE always opens to quickmetasearch search engine, which I don't want it to do. I've tried changing the home page several times with no luck.

Both of these problems are a constant annoyance. So, I looked around your site, downloaded HiJackThis, ran it, and have posted the log below. Could you run over it and let me know what i need to get rid of/fix/install, etc.

    Thanks so much, BDSharps

First, Hi and welcome to MajorGeeks! :) Second, follow all the advice in the sticky notes at the top of the Spyware Specific page of this forum. After doing so, then post and ask for help on the problems that weren't corrected and still remain, and the spyware experts there will guide you through fixing your problems. :)

    Let's Try This Again

I followed ALL directions in the link you provide (for Window XP). All spywar/virus detecting programs assure me that my system is completely clean or no threats are found.

I've run hijackthis again, and have posted the (updated?) log below:
